Google Classroom

Google Classroom is a dynamic feature created by google to make school easily accessible for teachers, scholars, families and administrations. Our 8th grade ELA class uses Google Classroom for homework, essays, unit projects and extra credit assignments. Each homeroom has its own google classroom page that is set up specifically for them. Scholars can go to their homeroom’s page to keep track of schoolwork, interact with each other about assignments and topics, see upcoming assignments and due dates on the class calendar, and get fast feedback and grades on their work. All they need to access their homeroom’s page is their CPS email address. Also, family members who choose to sign up will receive a grade summary for their scholar’s work via email, which will include grades, upcoming assignments, and missing work.

Students access their classroom site using the following steps:

  1. Log on to you CPS account
  2. Go to classroom.google.com
  3. At the top right corner of your browser, hover over the ” + ” symbol and click join class
  4. Type in the class code that corresponds with your homeroom. (Please note that if you do not join the right classroom you will not receive accurate information)
