Class Dojo

Class Dojo is used in our classroom community to help foster a positive learning environment. Students receive dojo points throughout the day for participating in class, completing assignments, helping others, and more. Conversely, students also lose dojo points for not upholding expectations. The Dojo Master is responsible for awarding and deducting points throughout class at the prompting of Ms. Hunter. At the end of each week, the dojo points are converted to ELA coins by the Dojo master and the accountants.

We also use dojo points to determine participation eligibility for different privileges throughout the school year. These privileges include field trips, assemblies, school-wide incentives, and graduation/awards ceremonies. Although scholars will be able to graduate with passing grades in core classes, participation in the graduation ceremony is predicated on students having earned at least 1000 dojo points in the school year.
